Update: Ridley Scott announced that Prometheus is no longer going to be a prequel to his Alien movie. Technically speaking, it is not Alien 5. It's going to be something new, which might hint at the first Alien film.

The Alien 5 Five Prequel is the fifth movie in the Alien franchise based on the original Alien film created by legendary motion picture director Ridley Scott in 1979. Ridley Scott has revealed that the first Alien movie was set in the year 2115 A.D. As for when Alien 5 happens, Ridley Scott says it transpires about 30 (thirty) years prior to the original Alien film, which would be the year 2085 A.D.

Regarding the future of the Alien movie franchise, Ridley Scott has indicated the plot story script basis of Alien 5 covers enough material for two Alien prequel films. It is unknown whether Ridley Scott will direct Alien 6. In fact, the Alien 5 Prequel is the only sequel movie, which is based on an original Ridley Scott movie, Ridley Scott has ever agreed to produce and create. All the previous full length motion pictures directed by Ridley Scott have no sequels directed by Ridley Scott himself.

Fortunately for Alien fans worldwide, Ridley Scott has agreed to serve as the movie director of Alien 5. The script screenplay is being written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. Scott Free is the film production company responsible for producing the Alien Five v prequel. The 20th Century Fox (Twentieth Century Fox) movie studio from Hollywood will distribute Alien 5 in theaters cinemas multiplexes around the planet.
